The Blake Family Business Collection

From its beginnings in 1880 as a grocer’s shop on Chapel Street, Derrylin, the Blake family business has long been a cornerstone of the local community. Today, its legacy continues through a variety of enterprises that reflect the family’s enduring commitment to the region. This collection of receipts - generously donated by the Blake family - offers a vivid glimpse into Fermanagh’s commercial past. The receipts are representative of many local businesses on the High Street and within the wider locality. The records not only document everyday transactions but also evoke cherished memories—reminding many of long-standing establishments, some of which still thrive today.

These are records have been made accessible through the "Enhancing Management of our Local History Archives" project, completed with a grant from the NI Museums Council.
