In 1940, the Girls’ Brigade was introduced into Northern Ireland when Mrs Irene Burns started the first company at Enniskillen Presbyterian Church. Girls were enrolled in the Company from all denominations and met on Wednesday evenings for a drill night in the Guildhall and on Sunday afternoons for Bible Class in the Presbyterian Church. It adopted the motto 'Onward and Upward'. We have a wonderful collection of images and collection items relating to the history of the First NI Company, Girls’ Brigade (Enniskillen). Enjoy!
