Caption
Known as a beehive quern due to its shape. It is thought to come from Fermanagh and to date to between the 1st and 5th centuries AD. Quern stones were used to grind cereal grain into flour. The upper stone was rotated against the lower stone. Only the upper stone of this example survives. It is unusual for both parts to be found.
