A carved stone head which has a more weathered appearance than FCM_1978_219 and with a more exaggerated chin. Both are wearing what looks like a pill-box type of head-dress - in this case a plain band in low relief. This head along with FCM_1978_119 (B) were given by the late William Steele to the late Lady Dorothy Lowry Corry and were presented to the museum in 1969. This head along with the other head, probably belonged to a medieval church, perhaps serving as corbels or mask-stops. Their slight resemblance to Romanesque sculpture may be due to the use of Romanesque models by the medieval stone-carvers. It has been suggested that these heads came from Devenish, Lisgoole or Rossorry, however, they could just as validly be attributed to any medieval church in the Lough Erne locality
