This bone shaker bicycle was owned by Dr John Reid of Rockfield, Florencecourt. He purchased the bicycle while a student at Trinity College, Dublin. He used it while conducting his medical practices at Florencecourt in the 1870s.
It is to be hoped that Dr Reid didn’t have to go too far on his journeys as it can’t have been a comfortable form of transport!
Kindly donated by Mr William Reid, nephew of the bicycle’s orginal owner
