Caption
A black and white document, dated 13th February 1689, appointing Gustavus Hamilton of Monea Castle the First Governor of Enniskillen and signed by 156 principal men of the town.
Hamilton enrolled the first Troop of Horse and Companies of Foot which became the Royal Inniskilling Dragoons and the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers respectively.
