A few years before this print was made, Sir James Caldwell spent more than £16,000 building a new house, seen here in the left background. He embellished the grounds with many decorative features including a temple and two walled gardens with fish ponds, all minutely depicted in this strange landscape which bears little resemblance to the rolling hills of Fermanagh.
