Caption

Jane, Marchioness of Ely, married the Marquis in 1844 and made her home at Ely Lodge in Fermanagh. Her husband died in 1857 and in 1869 she was lady-in-waiting to Queen Victoria. Scottish by birth, she was the daughter of James Joseph Hope-Vere of Craigie Hall and Blackwood, Scotland.
