Written by Mr J.W. Johnston, JP, merchant, farmer and member of Fermanagh County Council, from Newtownbutler. The letter forms part of the overall submission made by Fermanagh County Council to the Irish Boundary Commission. It argues the case for Newtownbutler remaining in Northern Ireland: 'I am convinced that the majority of inhabitants of this area from their personal testimony to me, of all denominations, would prefer to remain in Northern Ireland.'
