"Bowl"

Caption

This is a round shaped bowl with an internally bevelled rim and flat base found during an excavation of Altanagh in Co Tyrone. The colour of this particular bowl is reddish/brown and there is a decoration on the bowl. The overall pattern is a series of vertically joined oval panels containing horizontal rows of comb impressions. These are found at top and bottom of bowl with a decorative band of two cordons and three rows of incised lines separating them. Seven lugs are equally spaced around the decorative band. The rim has semi- circular incised patterns. This bowl dates to the Bronze Age period.
