The one pence piece was first minted in silver in 1763 until 1797 when it was minted in copper and then bronze from 1860. This coin was issued in 1921. This particular model was first issued in 1911, marking the coronation of George V. It was issued until the end of his reign in 1936. The coin depicts an image of Britannia on the obverse side. The reverse depicts a portrait of the king. Production of this coin ceased in 1970.
