Commemorative postcard of Patrick Henry Pearse. Pearse was the Commander in chief of all the Republican forces in the field during the Easter Rising of 1916. He was responsible for the writing the Proclamation of the Irish Republic (being one of the signatories) - which he read from the steps of the G.P.O. on Easter Monday. He was elected President of the Provisional Government of Ireland.
