The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is an Irish Catholic fraternal organisation. The requirements of membership was that all members had to be from the Catholic religion background and either Irish Born or of Irish descent. Today, its largest membership is now situated in the United States, where it was initially formed on 4 May 1836 in New York City. Text on this side of banner reads: 'Ancient Order of Hibernians. B.O.E. Division No. 160 Carrickaleece' 'Friendship Unity and True Christian Charity' This banner was kindly donated by Mr. Paddy McAvinue from Teemore, Co. Fermanagh. His late uncle was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 160, Carrickaleece which this banner stands for. Carrickaleece is a townland situated in the Derrylin / Teemore direction in County Fermanagh.
