A drawing inspired by the view from the artist’s studio window in Enniskillen. A finished piece rather than a study, ‘Tree Calligraphy’ is a major work executed in 2004 by Jeremy Henderson before he became seriously ill. A striking composition, there is a tension between the layers of loose washes of colour and the still, strong lines defining the landscape. One of Jeremy Henderson’s more figurative works, the drawing represents a view from Henry Street in Enniskillen across the River Erne. The trees have since been cut down.
