Rare autograph book of signatures and verses written by internees on the Prison Ship Argenta. From around midnight on the 22 May 2022 and during the next 24 hours, nearly 300 men and some women were arrested and detained without trial under new emergency powers brought in in Northern Ireland. Almost all those interned were Nationalist and Catholic. The Prison Ship was moored securely in Belfast Lough and conditions on board were extremely harsh. This book belonged to Jack Meehan of Paget Square, Enniskillen who was interned on the Argenta.
