Caption
One of TP's finest early works, this interior scene depicts three young students who went on to influence generations of artists in Ulster. TP Flanagan became friends with the artist, Basil Blackshaw (1932-2016), and Kenneth Jamison (1931-2016), who later became Director of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. In the painting, TP is shown in the foreground, wearing a floppy bow tie; Kenneth Jamison is in the centre and Basil Blackshaw is painting in the background.
